Celebrations of Learning

Thank you to the many parents who have supported the Years 3 – 6 Celebrations of Learning. The children have greatly appreciated the opportunity to share their work and learning goals with their parents. 

 

Enrolments for 2014

Applications for enrolment for Kindergarten 2014 are now available from the school office. Alternatively, they can be downloaded from the Catholic Education website www.dow.catholic.edu.au or from our school website www.sjddow.catholic.edu.au

Children are eligible for enrolment if they turn 5 before 30 June, 2014. St John’s is a good school with great things happening. Parents please spread the word!

Whole School Mass

This Friday, 10 May we will be celebrating a Whole School K – 6 Mass in the Church at 9.30am to celebrate the beginning of a new term and Mother’s Day. We invite all parents and families, particularly mothers and grandmothers to join us. 

 

School Photos

School photos will be taken on Tuesday, 28 May. Information packages will be sent home to families shortly. 

 

Walk-a-thon

During Week 5, Monday, 27 May – Friday, 31 May the children from St John’s will participate in a Walk-a-thon. Each child in the school has received a sponsorship form today. Winter Uniforms

Children officially change into their Winter Uniform on Tuesday, 14 May, two days after Mother’s Day and our Staff Development Day. Please refer to the week 2 newsletter for further details.


 

Staff Development Day (Pupil Free Day)

A reminder that our Staff Development Day (pupil free day) will be held next Monday, 13 May. On this day children do not attend school, so please make arrangement for their care. St John’s staff will be joining five other schools in the Diocese to continue our work on understanding the new Australian Curriculum to be implemented in 2014
